Our Guinevere Medieval Corset Gown otherwise known as a "kirtle" was inspired by the gowns worn in the movie, “Ever After: A Cinderella Story (1998),” and was named for the mythical, beautiful Queen Guinevere of Camelot.
This elegant medieval corset gown features an empire waist, our signature style of front and back lacing, and a front and back modesty panel, that boasts a more customized fit to your body shape. Please note of the zipper on the bottom of the backside of the bodice. This provides a chamber to tuck and hold the extra length of laces/ribbons, and keep them in a tidy fashion.
The Guinevere Medieval Empire Waisted Corset Gown was designed to provide a tight fitting corset overdress, showing off a snug bosom and formed waist, while flaring out into a full, straight skirt. In Medieval times, this style corset dress was to be worn over a chemise or underdress. A chemise or underdress was used to create a barrier between the more expensive garment and the skin, to extend longevity of use between washings. The Guinevere medieval corset gown gives the illusion of a gown being worn over a chemise or underdress.
The Guinevere medieval corset dress features a loose box pleat design along the neckline, a faux subtle peek of a chemise at the shoulder, leading down to sleeves with a ribbon adjustment at the elbow to customize the comfort to your arms. A robe-style corset gown, because of the open front, it must be paired with a skirt or something similar underneath. Please regard that this design is not suggested with the use of an Immortelle Stomacher. Embrace your inner royalty with this delightfully glorious gown.
